Hi, Marissa,

This recipe sounds great, but I’m not a big fan of strawberries. I have some freeze dried raspberry powder that I was thinking of using instead. Do you think I should cut back a little on the raspberry powder as the flavor is a tad more assertive?

Love your column on Substack and the Contrarian. Thanks for keeping my spirits from tanking in this political environment!

I would keep the amount of raspberry powder the same! But I also love raspberries. You may want to consider the tedious step of sieving the powder to remove some of the seeds, however. Thank you so for the kind words. It really bolsters me. LMK if u have any questions.

Yes, I will be spending that extra time sieving the powder! I already do the same for Raspberry Ice Cream, so I’m unfortunately aware of the process. But thanks for the reminder, it will make me include the time for sifting!

it is wildly tedious, but worth the effort.

My teen granddaughter loves to bake and loves dried fruit, so I'll share with her and maybe get a taste! Btw...your recipe instructions are always so exact and helpful. I rarely have questions about what or how. Thanks for all your suggestions and guidance.

I'll give the recipe a try - sounds good. As far as the current administration in DC - anything to get attention no matter how offensive. BTW - did you see the latest? He doesn't know if he has a responsibility to uphold the Constitution. And, he doesn't seem to know what the Declaration of Independence is about.

It’s been over a week and I’m still mumbling about it. But in that way that he has, there’s been so much more noise since then, we aren’t talking about it anymore.

My barber shop always has Fox on. It’s painful.

The amount of “Squirrel” deflection they do is stunning. The day the market was collapsing due to Trump Tariffs Fox was talking about Joe Biden’s health. Anything but how they’re fearless? leader was destroying families’ financial wealth. When people puzzle over how misguided MAGA folks are, I point to their intake. Fox all day full of lies.

Making these for my May Baby’s 23rd birthday this week! She is living away in the big City so I guess I’ll have to eat them all myself!!!

I wish I had something clever or witty to say about this latest Trump stunt but unfortunately brain fog/fatigue has settled in and for once I am at a loss for words (Mark, my husband is somewhat thankful I bet).

Off to watch the brilliant and talented equestrians we know and love. I am comforted Daily that they are our future. They aren’t running at Churchill Downs for the Roses but I will ALWAYS bet on them.

For a woman with so-called brain fog, you have a wonderful way with words. ❤️

I don’t bake but my son’s MIL and my friend, a Mt Holyoke grad does so I printed to share with her this afternoon when we go over for dinner. Thank you for a bit of joy.

As for ANYTHING Yam Tits does... I'll keep it simple. I've never voted for him. He needs to be institutionalized.

Oh yes, absolutely. I don't like Maher, either, and Jiminy trolls him incessantly. It's brilliant. 🤣 https://youtu.be/_kjqZHrDUlU?si=vNacd58KOWBsiu0e

Just about to take these out of the oven, and the kitchen smells heavenly. Do you recommend cooling in the pan, or on a rack?

I’m sorry I’m only just seeing this. It really depends on how soon you plan to eat them. I like them warm and will eat them about 30 mins after they’re out of the oven, so I just leave them on the pan. However, if the scones are too brown on the bottom when you take them out (like if I get lost in thought and forget I’ve something baking, yes it happens), I will rush them to the cooling rack to stop them from cooking further on the bottom.
