Thank you! BTW, the golden syrup tin is ultra cute, but it comes in a bottle at more plebeian stores like Publix.

And, if you can believe such a shocking thing... people like myself have also had to use such plebeian bottles...frequently. Shocking, I know. LOL.

(glad to hear it's at Publix!)

We always got Entenmann’s coffee cakes and danishes and such, but upstate, there was only one store-bought chocolate chip cookie for us - Freihoffer’s!

Of course! All due respect to Freihoffer's!

My m-i-l starts every morning with an individual Entenmann crumb cake, though she loves pancakes and fresh breakfast cake for her 2nd breakfast. My g’son loves those little Entenmann Brownie bites which I watch for on 2fer sales

My mom used to travel with the individual crumb cakes!!! She did a lot of work in London and would always pack some so she'd "have a little something" to eat and wouldn't need to run out to the shops. I did not fall far from this tree! 2fer sales of entenmann's are a great thing.

I ate many a box of those soft chocolate chip cookies and chocolate fudge donuts ... often in one day. Eventually, I realized where my constipation came from so no more cheap chocolate!!

the chocolate fudge donuts...refrigerated....then they were best!

We always had home-baked cookies and cakes (don’t hate me) and my best friend and I began baking ourselves in middle school. Your CCC recipe is very similar to mine, but I will have to check out the golden syrup!

I also play around with the chips, sometimes using both white and semisweet chocolate. I have also made them with chocolate covered raisins instead of chips. Delicious!

I thought I was the only person who liked chocolate covered raisins. I however, feel I must try them in an oatmeal cookie recipe....
