I'm retired and live alone with my cat (to the consternation of JD Vance), so I watched the DNC and it was electrifying. I tuned in a little after 6 pm CT because someone on Twitter had highly recommended listening to the roll call. I had really liked the roll call in 2020 but wasn't expecting much. It was so unifying and literally showed the diversity in the US and, unlike the RNC, it wasn't a bunch of mostly white dudes. The Blue dots in Red states showed so much enthusiasm; I'm a Blue dot in a Red state so I really relate to that. Someone on Twitter showed a side-by-side comparing the DNC roll call to the RNC roll call and it's very telling. And the speeches were great. I was reading with the convention streaming in the background but when the speeches began I was pulled into listening to them full-time. From Ana Navarro talking about what communism and authoritarianism is really like to Doug Emhoff's speech to the fantastic speeches of the Obamas, and yes, Michelle's speech was the best. I made your Blueberry Roly-Poly when you first put it on your Substack and it's one of my favorites. I'm making your cheesy zucchini bread today and then your blueberry-coconut cake this weekend. I'm on the autism spectrum and very much an introvert and it exhausted me just listening to the speakers and the crowd, but in a good way.

Garden State in the house over here! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I recommend watching the convention live or as a replay on Kamala Harris’s YouTube channel. No pundits, no commercials, and no distracting graphics on the screen.
