Apple pie/pastries are good all year. Judge Cannon should be impeached. I'm making lemon bars.

Love lemon bars. Haven't made any in years as I'm solo. Maybe my next potluck.

Even with 4 people in my house, I gave some away to my neighbors. I understand!

The deed is done! I made lemon bars for the very first time! It took 4 lemons for the juice and 2 for the zest (organic of course). I was skeptical that such simple ingredients would yield such a delectable confection. It’s an absolute hit! Thank you!

Clyde looks like my very opinionated black cat, Blackie!!! Thanks for the lemon bar recipe. As for Judge Loose Cannon, she just continues firing blindly and destroying even more of the federal court's integrity, the little that was left after the recent insane rulings of the extreme injustices of SCOTUS.

I had not known of your Substack before today! Your lemon bars look great and I wonder if they can be made gluten-free so my lovely daughter-in-law can eat them. Thinking about trying them with almond flour. Even if this fails they might still be edible? Your other recipes look good too!

Also I think Judge Cannon is unprofessional. But I’m not a lawyer.

Ah, Marissa, I mute the “real housewives” ad, along with Shark Tank and others. But have to keep remote nearby. You made me laugh! Made a 9” chocolate crazy cake Friday for girlfriends. Doctored it as always, was disappointed in result but they were happy. Wondering if out of date espresso was the problem. But gathering was a success. Judge Cannon? Ugh. Have to wonder if she let herself be bought.

What was disappointing about the cake? Let's try to figure this out. Espresso that's out of date wouldn't make much, if any, difference.

The more intense flavor just wasn’t there. The original recipe calls for 3 Tbsp cocoa, 1 cup granulated sugar and water. I added 1 Tbsp cocoa, used half brown sugar, and added the espresso. I think coffee and brown sugar add to a chocolate cake. But I had a variety of cocoas in the cupboard, both ditched and not. Would that matter? Honestly, don’t remember what I used but traditionally I use Hersheys cocoa. Didn’t have any this time.

Thanks for asking!!!
