Add a little dark syrup and OJ to this, and you've made my Aunt Violet's Swedish pepparkakor cookies.... of course they also need a slice of almond pressed on the top before baking. Yum!

Would King Arthur 1:1 gluten free baking flour work here as a 1:1 exchange for the flour? My partner has a gluten intolerance but these look amazing with tea and he would otherwise love them.

I’ve not tried it, but it should work. Their gluten-feee flour is supposed to be good.

Basically it’s 2 1/2 cups flour and 3/4 cup sugar. I have bad WiFi currently so just repeating in case photo doesn’t come through.

Sounds good. Ran out of butter so off to the store today. Will definitely make this, and use my Christmas cookie cutters.

The recipe looks divine! And the cookie cutter is flat out hilarious! There are tons available from sources other than Etsy. (They have proven to be very disappointing politically.)

Amazon has the cat butt cookie cutters although his politics are equally disappointing.

I’d love a post on using an embossed rolling pin. It’s tricky to find a dough that doesn’t get stuck in the design.
