So young..may she RIP. Hadn't heard of the MAGA instant pot. Ughh. Can't they stay out of the instant pot market? Leave us cooks alone!

Salt it so it tastes like the ocean… but not the Dead Sea!!! Love love love that you shared this part of your cooking history… just further proves my belief that you are one of the coolest people I have ever met.

As an educator myself (or kind of one) I think the best reward for any teacher is knowing that in some small way they have made an impact on a student’s life. Your tribute to Chef Anne is such a gift to her….thank you for sharing 💕

Thank you for this. Learning about her sudden passing has weighed on me. It’s so sad she was so young.

Such a beautiful tribute. I loved reading about how what she taught you is still so present in your mind today. It makes me sad that I never got a chance to meet her.

Ann's passing at too young an age reminds us to not take anything for granted. Her energy was something to aspire to. I can imagine Ann's face when learning of the MAGA Instant Pot. It's probably exactly like ours.

I’m not a cheesecake girl generally. But the Nutella in this one is compelling. And we are quite sad in our household about the passing of Anne Burrell. 🥺 She was so lovely and fun to watch. 💔

I had to chortle Marissa, if only ICE and CIA remained what they were in your story, their better selves! Thank you for a wonderful tribute -

Great memoir of Chef Anne. I loved watching her on "Worst Cooks In America". The last show she was on was "House Of Knives"Scott Conan narrated the contest and Anne won the competition. IrT was on over several weeks this year like the beginning of January. I will definitely try your Nutella cheese cake.

I apologize…I realize now that might have sounded insensitive & slightly snarky. I certainly didn’t mean it that way. My personality is such that I feel the need to be precise. Not always a good thing. Lol 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

Actually Shirley Chung won the “House of Knives” but Anne was in the final 4

Lovely tribute, Marissa. Thank you.

My kids went to the also-unfortunately-named Institute of Collaborative Education, a progressive public school in NYC; we got rid of all the ICE-branded merch a few years ago. I was pretty bummed not to have any to ... uh, DECORATE when I marched last week.

What a lovely tribute to Chef Burrell and your connection to her at a pivotal time.

RE MAGA instant pots. We have a Mini and use

It often for hard boiled eggs, (two minutes high pressure), brown rice (just hit the rice button) making apple butter without burning the bottom, even made yogurt in it at one point.

Chocolate no bake cheesecake seems like just the thing

Hi Marissa: I worked at Oxygen from 2000-2004 in ad sales for Charlie Collier. Before that, I worked at the Food Network. I share your feelings when it comes to the wonderful word of food and the way in which great chef teachers such as Anne influence how we feel about food as a source of sustenance, entertainment and the essence of life. Enjoy your work!

Always nice to hear about fond memories of a memorable teacher. Undaunted by Trump’s forays into whatever he thinks will make him a buck. His schemes are as disgusting as he is. I cope by cooking & baking. I am much more adventurous than I used to be.
