My brother just sent me his annual gift of 5 pounds of mammoth pecans from Georgia. I can’t think of a better way to use some than this pie. I guess not everything from Georgia is ruined yet.

My family wants pumpkin, apple, and/or pecan pie. I always want to try something different, but have resigned myself to doing that on other days. I do add pears and cranberries to my apple pie, and chocolate to my pecan pie, and on occasion maple to the whipped cream for the pumpkin just to keep from being bored! Oh, and Elon Musk is the prototypical villain with world wide domination in mind, right out of Central Casting. It would be hilarious if he weren't so potentially dangerous.
I think my husband just had this pie at work yesterday! They called it Kentucky Derby Pie. I will make apple and pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and typically use King Arthur all purpose for my butter and crisco crust. Happy Thanksgiving!
