I made these today. They are very tasty. The first batch I made too big, so I had to cook them longer, although my husband said, "Can you really have a cookie that is too big?"

"Light and fluffy" beating of sugar and butter always seemed so vague. A few years ago I went a full 5 minutes, sometimes (depending on the size of the sugar grain) even longer. Breaking down the sugar, fully blending with the butter, truly makes the best-ever chocolate chip cookie crumb. Thanks for this, especially now.

I love your dog. I also love cookies, and will bake them as soon as the weather cools off a mite.

Thank you Marissa.

Lighting a fire under the patriarchy (which, incidentally, will also serve to bake the cookies).

Two issues that might take the dialogue in a different direction:

1) It's way past time for men to man up about birth control. The culture has changed in the past 50 years. Now that #MeToo has finally started to criminalize guys like Harvey Weinstein, we can find a way to shift some responsibility for pregnancy to males. Abortion can be expensive, painful, and invasive, and it punishes mothers way more than fathers. Birth control is simple, private, and relatively cheap. The fact that many teens don't use it only means we need to find a better way to reach them.

2) Abortion actually protects babies who'd otherwise be born to parents who don't want them/can't care for them. Shifting focus from "they're our bodies" to "denying abortions puts babies at risk" might reach the pro-lifers who profess to care about unborn children.

Like it or not, abortions have just become a huge challenge. We have to change the messaging for now.

Einstein was right ALOT and I think was right when he wrote that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The future is inevitably coming whether the right wants it or legislates against it. Unfortunately many females will be caught in transition.

Angry, sad, upset, motivated - a whole gamut of emotions. But mostly angry - the Constitution as originally written enshrined slavery, did not guarantee women the vote & in fact allowed states to deny women the vote. It was written when “arms” were muskets not AK-47s & abortion was practiced, just not in the sterile atmosphere of a modern clinic or hospital. The “Founding Fathers” were all white men, at least several of whom had out-of-wedlock children with enslaved women. So much for originalism.

Thank you so much Marissa for amplifying what so many of us feel about this attack on our rights. We have no intention of ever going back or of giving up to the misogynistic patriarchal men and the handmaiden on the once supreme court.
