Oh my goodness gracious, I was up and down the step stool into baking supplies today. I even checked that my supply of Lyle’s was adequate. But I never noticed the lion except cursory glance

But I have to climb step stool again to put a few more things away

I have to confess I had to Google "treacle" as I couldn't remember what it actually means. This sounds great and seems fairly easy to make. I always need another St. Patrick's Day recipe. Go raibh maith agat (per Google - thank you very much in Gaelic).

I think I love this story a little more than I should! 🤣 It’s very British! And the treacle tart sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Found Lyles at my local UK Gourmet in Bethel CT. $5 for the 11oz bottle. I may try this for Easter

Thank you for sharing this recipe! I've always wanted to try treacle tart after reading about it in the Harry Potter series, but I wasn't able to find it anywhere when I had the chance to go on a short trip to London last year. Homemade will have to do!

Oh, this is so much fun to read! Even though I don't currently have an oven! xo

How many egg yoks in the crust? Ingredient list says 1, but the "putting together" part says 2.

Ok, my maturing brain is confounded. The ingredients for the crust call for 1 egg yolk. The instructions say to put 2 yolks in. What am I missing? I do have yolks on my mind - just made E Jean Carroll’s birthday cake and have 6 yolks in the fridge.

I don’t understand why the lion had to be changed?! Am I missing something?!
