The brownie: The ultimate dessert. Make them any way you like. Cake-y, fudgey, gluten free, or not, with or without chocolate chips, and or dried sour cherries. Just keep your nuts and frostings for other recipes, please!
Obvi I don't know your supermarket situation...but most big chains carry Bob's Red Mill products and if you can find those shelves, take a look-see for almond flour, which is usually part of the regular stock. They are great for all non-wheat flours, from hazelnut to chickpea! Places like Nuts.com (not a sponsor!) also sell it.
These are so good! Sent this to a friend last week, she made them and generously shared four with me on Thursday. Managed to make them last until Sunday night...it was tough, but what a treat
I always heard that brownies were created in Chicago by the Palmer House Kitchen to be served at the 1893 Columbian Exposition World’s Fair in 1893. The Palmer House has undergone several iterations, including a Hilton Hotel. Don’t know if brownies are still on the menu.

You and me: same page.
Same!! No nuts no frosting - brownies are brownies not cake & not nutty!!
I enjoy your columns. A suggested edit: correctly it should be "if you couldn't care less" not could.
Thank you!
I adore Bosco 💖
Me too. I live for Bosco pix.
Aren’t they just Everything!?!

As Maine goes, so goes the...brownie? Maine girl, here, taking credit 😳
Yes, that's it!
These look and sound decadently delicious. Where does one buy almond flour? Not at my local grocery store.

We sometimes order nut butters, etc. from 1001nuts.com. They will probably stock it. Thanks.
Cannot wait to try these! I’ve been diving back into my GF baking again, excited these came across my page!!
I hope you like them!
Sent this to my celiac having mom. I am certain she’ll try it. I’ll report back.

These brownies are amazing, my new favorite. And so easy to make!
I made these yesterday and they are great! Very sweet and full of chocolate. No one here knows they are gluten free.
Just checked. The Palmer House Hilton serves the Bertha Brownie, an homage to Bertha Palmer.
