You just made my day!

I was looking for something new and different (for me). I am seeing raspberry jelly and powdered sugar!

Glad you shared your favorite (finally)👍 Yay! 😀

A chocolate sugar cookie is nearly perfect without the jam, the extra dip in chocolate, and the sprinkles. But, I wouldn't turn down the extras either!

Exactly. Like, you look beautiful without make-up, but with a little eyeliner and some sparkly eye shadow, you look beautiful too!

Can I use a cookie stamp on these chocolate shortbreads?

This dough isn't sturdy enough to hold the imprint. Even after chilling it tends to swell a little when baking.

Thank you Marissa

I love chocolate, and with these the possibilities are many. I look forward to your mince pie recipe. I haven't been able to find any at the store here, and I really wanted to make one at this time.

I love Lebkuken cookies from Germany. Homemade Lebkuken are so much better than store bought! I finally found a recipe in English and made them last year. They are not simple to make, but rewarding when accomplished.

I posted my grandmother's recipe for lebkuchen. It's more of a bar cookie than a stand-alone cookie, but, if I do say so myself, my grandma knew what she was doing. And: they're easy to make! https://open.substack.com/pub/marissarothkopf/p/grandmas-lebkuchen?r=1nxok&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Thank-you for this recipe. It will be much simpler than the balancing the nut mixture on those wafers! I will be making this recipe soon. Do you ever substitute hazelnuts for the almonds?

I am experimenting with my grandmother’s date pinwheels. I’ve been making them exactly as she did for 40 yrs and I got a bug up to change them and omg, they are even better. 🤣 I was so afraid to change anything.

You are an exceptional baker, Ms. Roney, so I've no doubt that you made them better. With all due respect to your grandma. (How did you change them?)

The cookie filling was a simple combo of baking dates, sugar, and chopped walnuts. I added cinnamon, clove, and orange jest and they are just elevated.

I started salivating before I even got to the recipe. Definitely going to make these.

I -for some reason -decided to sift the flour

After measuring sifted flour I have 1/2 cup left over of the two cups unsifted

Help -do I have to add that in too or leave it out and accept two cups sifted? Ps I am a terrible cook haha

Your daughter has good taste! 😋

How did you know we have our annual office cookie swap next week?! Would it be bad if I rolled the dough into a log and sliced rounds in lieu of using cookie cutters? That's my shortcut for my grandma's frosted sugar cookies.

Now this is the cookie recipe I've been waiting for! I've use an old Martha Stewart chocolate cookie recipe for years, but it's not perfect. I'll be this one is!
