Oh, my lord! I’ve lived in Ohio all my adult life, have eaten plenty of buckeyes and variants, but these look entirely new and deadly delicious. Can’t wait to try, will make for company next week.

Lifetime Ohioan here. This recipe sounds delicious. Lots of other famous Buckeyes: Paul Newman, Bob Hope, James Thurber, Cy Young…..the list goes on. Thanks for the shout-out!

My mom and I made Buckeye peanut butter balls every year for our Christmas goodie trays but these sound even better and much easier. I will make them gluten free with one little substitution. Thanks!

Love this post, especially all the Jersey parts! This recipe looks terrific, can't wait to make them. And thanks for the Sparo's comment - that place looks great. I only wish they had been in Montclair when I lived in north Jersey; might have to make a special trip up!

Hi Marissa. I am not a brownie fan. But would definitely like to try the Buckeye Brownies. However, have you ever tried making them with less sugar in the peanut butter filling? If not, is the filling really sweet or not too sweet using the two cups? Thank you!!

This sounds fantastic, but I'm wondering if you used regular peanut butter or natural? I'm allergic to peanuts & would like to try subbing almond butter. I miss Buckeyes, peanut butter fudge and all the rest!

As a proud Ohioan, I love this post! Enjoyed the podcast with your niece’s husband, too. The brownies look amazing! In addition to your list (plus Graeters and Jeni’s ice cream), we also claim Toni Morrison (Lorain, OH), Gloria Steinem (Toledo), and Mary Oliver (Maple Heights) - not too bad for the Buckeye state! Enjoy your weekend!
